Hello,
I was working on a piece of artwork entitled "Hyper 8-bit memories" for the GamePaused/WearGame book that was accepting submissions a while back. I never quite finished it in time for the deadline-but I have included some of the artwork that I will eventually compose together to create it...
I have tried to mimic the old style that was found in Video game manuals/ adverts/ promotional leaflets in Japan back in the 80's/early 90's...
The entire image is eventually going to try and incorporate all the old video games mascots from yesteryear as a tribute to all things 8-bit.
I'll post more as I finish/find the images.
Let me know what you think and any suggestions for characters to add.

From memory the characters I planned to include are -
Donkey Kong
Higemaru (from Capcom's Pirate ship Higemaru)
Mappy
Octorok (From Zelda Densetsu series)
Tiki Kiwi (NewZealand Story)
Vic Viper
Bub
Inky (Ghost from PacMan)
CutMan (from Rockman series)
Meka Dragon (Wonderboy/MonsterWorld)
Don Doko Don
Master Higgins
Dog from Duck Hunt
TriClyde (Mario Bros USA)
Dyanmite Dux (kinda crossed with Bean the Dynamite)
Kirby
Kid Dracula
There were more but I can't remember off the top of my head

Cheers Guys,
They were all hand-drawn and then coloured in via photoshop.
The whole point was to have a composition of all the chararcters together. I did a sketch of the entire layout - I'll try and scan it in and post it when I can find it.
